Copyright Policy

Purpose 

The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for the use, protection, and management of copyrighted materials owned by Calgary Movers Pro and third parties. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and third-party service providers. 

Use of Copyrighted Materials 

1. Company-Owned Copyrights: 
   • All content created by or for Calgary Movers Pro, including text, images, videos, logos, and other materials, is the property of Calgary Movers Pro and is protected by copyright laws. 
   • Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of company-owned copyrighted materials is strictly prohibited. 
2. Third-Party Copyrights: 
   • Calgary Movers Pro respects the copyrights of third parties and expects the same from its employees and partners. 
   • Employees must not use copyrighted materials owned by third parties without obtaining proper authorization or licenses. 

Employee Responsibilities 

1. Adherence to Policy: 
   • Employees are required to adhere to this copyright policy and ensure that their use of copyrighted materials complies with all applicable laws and regulations. 
   • Employees must seek permission from the copyright owner before using, reproducing, or distributing copyrighted materials that are not owned by Calgary Movers Pro. 
2. Attribution: 
   • When using third-party copyrighted materials under license or fair use, proper attribution must be given to the original creator. 
3. Reporting Infringements: 
   • Employees must report any suspected copyright infringement involving company-owned or third-party materials to their supervisor or the designated copyright officer. 

Copyright Infringement

1. Infringement Notifications: 
   • If Calgary Movers Pro receives a notification of alleged copyright infringement, we will take appropriate action to address the issue, including removing the infringing content and conducting an investigation. 
2. Consequences: 
   • Employees found to have infringed copyright laws or this policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. 
   • Contractors and third-party providers found to have infringed copyright laws may face termination of their contract and potential legal action. 

Fair Use Policy 

1. Fair Use Doctrine: 
   • Calgary Movers Pro recognizes the fair use doctrine, which allows limited use of copyrighted materials without permission for purposes such as criticism,  
     comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research. 
   • Employees must ensure that their use of copyrighted materials under the fair use doctrine complies with legal requirements and does not infringe on the rights of the copyright owner. 

Obtaining Permissions 

1. Requesting Permissions: 
   • Employees must obtain written permission from the copyright owner before using, reproducing, or distributing copyrighted materials that are not owned by Calgary Movers Pro. 
   • All permissions and licenses must be documented and retained for reference. 

Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) 

1. Compliance: 
   • Calgary Movers Pro complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act  (DMCA) and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement in accordance with the DMCA.
